Hot stamping takes place in the post-printing process, which means that the printed parts cannot overlap with the other parts. You can print your stamping foil in almost any color and finish, even hologram or patterned designs.
Among the advantages of hot stamping, we can mention brighter quality, the possibility of implementing embossed or recessed designs, and higher adhesion and longevity. Although hot stamping has a higher cost than cold one and color matching is more limited.
cold Foil Stamping
Cold Foil Stamping, as the name suggests, is similar to hot foil stamping, but heat is not used. In fact, this technique originated from hot stamping and was created in the 21st century with the development of printing machines, but the difference is that unlike the post-printing technique of hot stamping, cold stamping is part of the printing process and is formed during the linear process of the printing machine. The stamping design is in the form of an adhesive. In the printing machine, it is activated by UV lamps and the foil sticks to the paper glue and dries. So in cold stamping, heat gives way to UV lamp.
The cost of cold stamping is almost half of hot stamping, and since this method is used in offset printing, it is possible to use gold, silver, and any combination of CMYK foil colors for stamping, but it does not have the shine and prominence of hot technique.
